Divorce/isolating them from everyone they deceived and let that person live his/her life with the fact they did that to their very own family.
Killing is going too far =\

not really. divorce isn't really a serious deterrent or punishment. you have broken a martial contract and there should be serious punishment for either party for doing so. If he/she wants to sleep around they should divorce BEFORE cheating not after.

We're talking about the issue Killing Vs Divorce which was the contention of the guys post.
Just because someone cheats on you bf/gf/wife/husband you don't take matters in your own hands and kill them for the fact they did such a cruel thing. You can't justify that no matter how wrong the person has done.
As for your argument, I agree with what you said but still shit happens that shouldn't no matter how hard we enforce it morally/culturally. It's up to a person's individual character to own up/ to be upfront and honest- or you personally finding out. It's a risk in every relationship, that's the instant vulnerability you choose when you take on a partner whether you like it or not.

i agree talking matters in your own hand is wrong. Infidelity should be a crime. And marriage is the written contract of taking relationship to the next level. You break that contract you should be punished. If you arent ready for that then stick to dating and dont get married. Whether the punishment should be death is dependent on your own values on capital punishment. Personally i cant think of a greater crime then abusing the trust of your closest partner.
Essentially i think marriage should be more then just a judge of character where you bear the risk, but more of a written contract sanctioned by the state.

Infidelity part I agree should be frowned upon seriously and those who do should be limited in their legal right to marry or commit as punishment instead of being allowed to marry and screw up over and over. And yes they should stick to their own kind instead of preying on those who are true and loyal or get out of the relationship.
However, nothing and no one is perfect-we're emotional creatures though not entirely logical ones at the end of the day that calculate how we'll hurt someone and if we would. Not defending the cheaters but most of them are "lost and clueless" characters or just plain bitches or assholes. It gets more complicated to differentiate a serial offender or someone who made a one off mistake and would never do it again although I count once as bad enough.
As for the marriage as a contract, yes I agree it is but there are things beyond your control besides infidelity that do happen [much serious/abusive/life-threatening], so it is not as black and white to say "you broke the contract of marriage-now be punished" attitude. And that's also hard to differentiate because in ad mist of rocky relationships pointing fingers and claiming bs and proving infidelity is going to lengthy and not practical. I rather see murders taking court time than people who want to fight for the right to break up their marriage.
With every rule made [such as capital punishing for breaking marriage contracts], you cannot deter the characters of the individuals who do not want to commit loyally, you cannot change that at the end of the day. There will be also a new set of problems where people who genuinely are in trouble with abusive spouses cannot escape such relationships. You can never cater for everyone.
It also deters free will and our freedom as human beings to be "happy", in a less than perfect world where life doesn't always go our way.
However, divorce should not be encouraged to solve all of life's problems with a partner but instead try counseling or something like that if two partners aren't in a life-threatening/abusive situations and can work the marriage- none of this Britney Spears crappola marrying in Vegas for a day. The media/entertainment industry popular culture has all affected this and made this worse than before. Only people have abused this privilege. There's a reason for why the laws are formulated in the first place for divorce.
So weighing the pros and cons there is hardly anything you can do about it legally without making things worse but acknowledge such a risk exists and pray that your sole judgment of your partners character is one you truly want and can tolerate.
At the end of the day I rather be with a partner who respects me and loves me and wants to be with me on his own account as opposed to one who is obligated to me by law. That makes a lot of sense to me.

:werd: Jihad ftw!
btw marriage already has some contractual aspects in some places e.g. on inheritance for example but obviously nothing about chopping dick for cheating. This is the year 2009 and what you say sounds proper retro :thumleft:

no one deserves to die for cheating, although at the time it would have SEEMED appropriate, but it wasnt. I can understand that all the people would have been feeling hurt, but death is going to far.
The wife would have been feeling hurt bcoz things are not too good for her at home
the husband because he cant control hid wife
and the mother in law because she's old fashioned and the wife wasnt living to her set of norm's values
either way, what they did was wrong nd now they gonna pay.
The issue is, how wrong was it???
well the ansa to that would be entirely opinion, to some its more wrong than others, and to some its acceptible.
well thats my take on the situation
