Sylhetis Rock....Dhakaiyas Suck!

I don't get this attitude from Dhakaiyas (Non-Sylheti) Bangalis toward us Sylhetis. They've got such a huuuge chip on their shoulders.

They always complain that Sylhetis are cliquish and exclusive but when was the last time you saw a Non-Sylheti (esp. Dhakaiyas) take effort of learning Sylheti? Instead they insist everyone speaks their Dhalkaiya lingo! Why?

And it's hardly our fault that our parentsa/grandparents had fordsight enuff to emigrate in large numbers back in the day. If Non-Sylhetis are as educated and clever as they think, they should have created diaspora communities as well. Sylhetis got where we are thro hard work n sacrifice.

I agree. In both cases marginalised groups have attained wealth, status and international profile (relative to other regions) and old elites who haven't managed to keep up don't like the new order of things.


From my experience Sylhetis and Non Sylhetis (tho Bengali and mostly Muslim) don't intermarry for various reasons. I'm guessing it's the same for Kashmiris? PLus extended family be a big thing for us too.

I kinda understand what you're saying. I say... fuck the rest of Bangladesh, if they don't like us for whatever reason then thats their problem. It would be better if we could all that get along, but :dunno:

We've always done well for ourselves, we don't need the rest of Bangladesh - I say we should separate Sylhet and make it it's own country :kekeke:

I hear that our lot have even set up airlines travelling from the UK. 'Royal Bengal Airlines' and 'Air Sylhet'. Hope they provide decent service cuz Biman is ****.

I dunno why but i like Biman - not because it's any good, but because the passengers are always fighting, swearing, stealing airline cutlery and beating up their kids. I like watching all that coz I'm sadistic.
