It Cuts Me To See The Sikhs Beloved Homeland Not Theres No More.2/3rds! Of It.Thats The Sikh Homeland Right There.
After the British annexed the Sikh Kingdom, a Hindu sect Arya Samaj turned against Sikhs and tried to declare that Sikhs were actually Hindus and Sikhism was just another sect of Hinduism. For a while this anti-Sikh propaganda slowed, but with the gaining of Indian independence, the Hindus once again resumed and increased their negative activities. While under British control Gandhi and Nehru promised Sikhs that they would have full rights and freedom. They also stated that Sikhs would have the rights to rule Punjab without any interference from the government and that no laws would be passed without discussing them with Sikhs. Gandhi said "You (Sikhs) take my word that if ever the Congress or I betray you, you will be justified to draw the sword as taught by Guru Gobind Singh." But as soon as the British left India Sikhs were fired from their jobs and Hindus were hired. Sikhs were declared as traitors of India.
On top of this when the Indian constitution was written Sikhs refused to sign it in the parliament house because Sikhs were declared “ Various Hindus with long hair.” Gandhi told Sikhs that if they cut their hair and give up their faith and joined the Hindus, they would be given the full right and hired at the jobs (the very same liberties which were denied them) but Sikhs refused to do so.
The Indian government broke all of their promises and forgot all about the liberties the Sikhs had essentially won for India. When Nehru was asked about creating a separate Punjabi state,he brushed it off by saying "Circumstances have changed now."
Aswell the Sikh leaders pre 1947 were clowns!.Nothin compared to the promises broke:@.

Na we DIDNT take sides.we were PLAYED! and STABBED in backs.the british and various hindus put the knife in the sikhs BACK.
.we didnt want a state until pakistan was being formed.when sikhs found out that ALOT of punjab would be givern aways, thats when we took note a nd wanted a state because muslims got pakistan, hindus got india (hindustan) the land of the hindus and as you read what i wrote we were promised a khalistan.i mean we did lots to free india, defend punjab, even punjabi muslims fought along side sikhs to defend punjab when the british invaded.pre 1947 90+ sikhs gave there lifes and offered there heads to be hanged what all together came to sikhs making a 80% contribution for total independence.
me too from what i heard.pak muslims admire the warrior side as that relastionship what was yess bad but people dont see the good side.it goes all wayback to nanak and the following 9 gurus and all the way to 1947.

Babur requested that Guru Ji accompany him to his tent. Guru Ji asked Babur to release all the prisoners as they had committed no crime, and then he accompanied Babur to his tent.
The emperor offered Guru Ji refreshments but Guru Sahib replied “ My cup is full.I have drunk the cup of my Lord’s love which fills me for all time.

when Humayun the elder son of Babur was defeated by sher Shah he came to seek the blessing of Guru Andad Dev Ji. At the time Guru Ji were absorbed in teaching the children to read. Feeling offended for not being emmediately attended to he put his hand on the hilt of his sword. Guru Ji looked up calmly and said " It is unchivalrous for a king to flee from the battlefield and vent their wrath upon men of God". Hearing these words of wisdom Humayun realised his folly and begged forgiveness.

The Emperor Akbar had great reverence for the House of Guru Nanak. He honoured saints of all religions and paid his homage while touring his empire. Guru AmarDas Ji’s fame had also reached his ears and Akbar went to visit Guru Ji in Gowindwal in 1567. He got of his horse and walked a distance in reverence for the Guru. Seeing the spiritual and non-sectarian atmosphere of Guru Sahib Ji’s sanctuary, Akbar was greatly impressed. On being informed that no one, high or low could gain an audience with the Guru without first partaking food in the langar , Akbar welcomed the idea and sitting in a row with all other common folk he ate langar. Akbar was profoundly impressed by this unique institution where all men, irrespective of caste or religion sat one on level and ate food.

Akbar came to Gowindwal on November 24, 1598 to pay his respects to the then Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, he died a few years later in 1605. On his throne sat Emperor Jahangir. Where as Akbar was liberal in his out look and gave due respect to the teachings of all religions, Jahangir was a fanatic and would not tolerate the spread of any other religion in his land.Guru Sahib Ji was made to site on a burning hot plate and red hot sand poured over him. This was followed by immersing Guru Ji in boiling hot water.and after asked to br allowed to go in the ravi river and went in a and was never seen ever again.before he went in the river he past the guruship to his son and said he should form a army.

On the invitation of Delhi's Sikh Community, Guru Harkrishan Ji went there and stayed with Raja Jai Singh. Now Gurdwara Bangla Sahib stands there. At that time cholera was raging in the area. Guru Ji went through the city, healing the sick. The afflicted were very happy to receive holy water from him.(This water has divine qualities and even now people utilise this water for their uncureable illnesses) During his stay he propogated Sikhism. This was the time of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Once he went to meet Guru Ji at Jai Singh's bungalow but Guru Ji refused to see him.

A delegate of 500 Kashmiri Brahmins led by Pandit Kirpa Ram met Guru Teg Bahadur Ji at Anandpur Sahib. Pandit Kirpa Ram told the harrowing tales of torture initiated by the orders of Aurangzeb (r. 1658-1707 AD) for converting them to Islam. Guru Ji was mentally occupied with the issue when the child Gobind Rai happened to be there and asked as to what was the matter. Guru Ji told him that the sacrifice of a Great Soul is called for.
Guru Teg Bahadur Ji reached Delhi for a trial between his serenity and Aurangzeb's tyranny. Aurangzeb sent a message that he will pardon him if Guru Ji would convert to Islam.guru jiwas brought in front of milling crowds, released and beheaded by an executioner called Sayyiad Jalal Din of Samana village, with a sword. This happened on the 11the of November 1675. Now Gurdwara Sis Ganj is located at the spot. Guru Gobind Singh Ji fought 10 + battles.some Sikh historians all other Muslim and British historians are silent about the part played by Guru Ji in defeating Tara Azam. They have recorded that Guru Sahib Ji had sent two to three hundred Sikh soldiers, under the command of Bhai Dhara Singh in aid of Bahadur Shah. But they fail to mention that it was as a result of two arrows shot by Guru Gobind Singh Ji that Taram Azam was killed and the throne of Delhi went to Bahadur Shah.
Just as Sri Ram Chander had killed Bali by his arrow from the cover of a tree, known as amogh baan (the unerring arrow), Guru Gobind Singh Ji had sent most of his Sikhs to the battle front, only a few were left with him. Guru Sahib Ji was watching the progress of the battle from higher ground. Guru Sahib Ji rode on his steed and shot the arrows from horseback at Tara Azam. Guru Ji had mastered the art of archery, as he mentions in the Zafarnama (Epistle of victory). Moreover, Guru Sahib Ji had promised Bhai Nand Lal Ji that he would kill Tara Azam and have the imperial throne restored to Bahadur Shah.
