Anyone got the NUS Extra card, what do you think about it?
Also what are your thoughts about NUS as an organisation that represents students?

It costs £10, but supposedly offers other benefits, though I'm yet to be convinced.
It does also incorporate the ISIC which makes it acceptable as an International Student ID card, and gives access to further discounts.

£10 isnt much if theres alot of saving throughout the year.
Believe it or not the cost of making and distributing the card means that the actual profit is miniscule.
Furthermore the money goes back into Universities, because the profit is distributed back to the student Unions.

Well the issue of representing ethnic minorities is different. There is an anti-racism department that campaigns for equal treatment for ethnic minorities, and combating racism.
Theres also a black students officer with her own department that represents all ethnic minorities. have you considered joining your student union to voice your concerns, and talk about what you'd like to see changed, or are you one of these people that just likes to moan and bitch from a distance, but not actually do anything about it?

What do you mean unrepresented?
The executive members of the NUS are all democratically elected by students, so they do represent students in the fairest way possible.
Obviously in an ideal world maybe there could be a muslim officer, christian officer etc... but the organisation doesn't have the resources for that.
Anyway I'm not really a representatitive of the NUS I've only been with them for 3 weeks, and don't necessarily agree with the way its been run in the past, or is being run at the moment.

What do you mean unrepresented?
The executive members of the NUS are all democratically elected by students, so they do represent students in the fairest way possible.
Obviously in an ideal world maybe there could be a muslim officer, christian officer etc... but the organisation doesn't have the resources for that.
Anyway I'm not really a representatitive of the NUS I've only been with them for 3 weeks, and don't necessarily agree with the way its been run in the past, or is being run at the moment.
basically ur a fag. an organisation needs to cater for its memebrs needs like the AA and the rac. they cater for teh motorist only. so as u represent THE STUDENT and their needs. fuking ******s all u lot want is equal rights for gays, u lot rather protect a poof then protect soem! religious beliefs u lot are ******s. go and talk to kashif

sales manager lol, at an insurance company.
I'm still finishing off AAT, I was planning to pursue chartered soon after but since I have accounting under my belt... I'd rather go for something else now and open more doors, have more career options.
Chartered I can take up later on, it is merely 2 years training.

Insurance  pretty lucrative industry. I'm ACCA, not quite Chartered but good enough.
I'm only at NUS temporarily, to do some consulting work, and sort out their Finances. I'll move on in 6 months.

AA or other companies waste alot of your time, it will take you twice as long with those companies than with a paki/desi instructor. cuz we are abit dodgy arent we lol
At the end of the day, your aim is only to pass... there isn't no special or various different techniques of learning to drive. ..but sure if you feel you can rely on them more, then sure why not, go for it.
