......I can switch Shilpa off. The people in the house with her haven't got that option. The problem is that most of the housemates are too dim to convey what a pain in the ass Shilpa is without appearing to persecute her. So Danielle, beside herself with rage because Shilpa cooks with onions, calls her a dog. Jack Tweed calls her a cunt. The word was bleeped out, leading many viewers to speculate that she had been racially abused. That is not surprising. This is a racist country; to the vast majority of couch potatoes out there, Shilpa is a "Paki bird"......

......Shilpa likes to be seen cooking. She looks utterly virtuous while she is doing it, she doesn't have to try to converse with the women in the house, she gets to eat food she likes, spice it any way she chooses and time it to please herself. It is a perfect ploy to drive everyone else crazy. Jermaine and Dirk are wise to her little game and quite amused to see how the cat-fights are developing. Jo, Jade and Danielle are miles behind the eight-ball; only Jack is further out of it.......

I agree no matter how annoying or 2 faced she can seem or be theres no excuse for racism. Those 3 girls definately have some racist steak in them. I read today that carphonewarehouse is dropping sponsorship of the show effective immediately.

I don't watch it anyway. It's just a giant money making scheme, and this drama is great for the makers of the show because it's pulling in the ratings.

LoL. I'm just laughing at the fact that it has suddenly gotten so big. It's like people thought that most people aren't usually racist. Being brought up in the UK, you learn to cope with it and get by. Good thing is that people are now getting educated about it I suppose. The only thing that will happen though, is that people will refrain from using racist comments in public only because it is deemed 'uncool' to do so. The social stigma of using such comments will be greater, and people will not be outwardly racist, not because it's a bad thing to do, it's because they don't want to be frowned upon by their peers. Sad state of affairs.

I don't really have time to watch it though. I work all day, get home, chill for about 30 mins, and then get a nap in, or go out. Then later on I study for usually 2 hours each day, and get some sleep for the night. Too busy. Even if I wasn't I don't think I would get pulled into the show. It's what the makers want. They gather all the extremes and shove them into a house to push the ratings up. Agreed this show seems to be different, but that's only because there is an asian/desi in the show so it appeals to the masses for the content. Of course the racist comments weren't i the scope of the money making scheme, but rest assured, the makers will be sure to milk every penny of the publicity. Especially the contestants that are involved.
