Bruce lee did them EVERY day.. and he got better results then most people get doing it every other day just as i have done with my routine
http://www.allbrucelee.com/article/how_did_bruce_lee_get_those_wash.htm
According to some of Lee's early training notes, his daily abdominal workout included:
Waist twists - four sets of 90 repetitions.
Sit-up twists - four sets of 20 repetitions.
Leg raises - four sets of 20 repetitions.
Leaning twists - four sets of 50 repetitions.
Frog kicks - four sets of 50 repetitions.

and plus if u think about it.. Our bodies are made for work consistently.. they grow when stimulated.. naturally they dont go "oh lets rest for a lil while so we can grow" they get pounded consistently.. for example.. back in the day when we were in th early stages of mankind where humans had to hunt and all, they were much bigger because they consistently worked and they worked all day and everyday so it would make sense that they grow when they are pushed, and it doesnt go "oh lets rest for 2 days and then work again" ur body is just made to work everyday and grow accordingly if it sees u are a weak ass mofo and builds up accordingly. and i guess bruce lee is just proof..

I think the key is STRAINING yourself without breakin yourself. thats all. either you push yourself with more reps + sets or you take more effort in each rep. This applies to weights and crunches both, its both muscles right. Only diff is 6 packs stay invisible cuz of rolls of fat coverin them up.

3x a week for abs is good enough.......
wut : you dont really need to work on them, concentrate on gaining weight and mass......yes u r blessed but you are also very young....

That theory is ok for abs, because they are the most resiliant muscle group in the body and they can handle that. BUT when you lift weights, you MUST REST. When you lift, you are actually tearing your muscle fibers. Then your fibers repair themselves and you get stronger, but this won't happen is you constantly stress them and don't give them a chance to repair themselves. Also if you don't rest you will overtrain, and instead of making gains you will have the opposite effect and lose muscle, lose sleep, and feel constantly drained, and sick.

Bruce Lee also dies at a young age. He was felling real drained during the final days of his life, and the drug overdose was the last straw.

leg raises is where u lie flat and bring ure legs up veritcally.
and leaning twists sound like keeping ure leg tertical and swaying them sideways? not sure.. it would be something else and prob is.

This makes me wonder if its smart to work out every single day no matter what and fuck all this "recovery phase". In fact work out each muscle group AT LEAST 5 DAYS IN A ROW and then finally give it 2 days of rest and then start abusing it again for 5 straight days. What better way to send a message to the muscles to shape up?

wrong...working out the abs 2-3 days a week is good enough...c'mon man these are the basics...give muscle time to rebuild

It can rebuild while you still keep on abusing it. It wont STOP rebuilding. And you can give it 2 days off during the week as well.

I have a confession to make. This might shock you. Are you ready? Don’t hate me. Okay, here it is:
I don’t train my abs very much. Once a week for about 15 – 20 minutes. That’s it. Seriously – no kidding. I work my abs like any other small body part, maybe even less.
Now, you’re probably wondering, how can I possibly get “Killer Abs” with only one ab workout a week?
Well, if you already own my BFFM fat burning system, or even if you’ve simply followed my articles and newsletters closely for a while, you already know the answer…

It boils down to this...train like a sissy or torture your muscles. I dont think the smart sissies will develop faster as much as we may like to believe so.

sure, abs, like any other muscle, need resistance training...Overworking them is not good, as the muscle tissue needs reparation time.
My ab area is rock hard BUT - the fact of the matter is this: Unless you seriously watch your diet, your abs will NEVER really show very well. You've gotta rid your body of the excess fat between the muscles... I mean, i'm a thin guy and you'd think that I'd have really good abs, but they're only mediocre at best b/c i don't watch my fat intake...

Drug overdose? The cause for his death remains unknown...some think he was taken out by the asian mafia...

actually what it boils down to are your goals. bruce lee trained his abs not for strength or for definition or for looks - he trained them b/c abdominal control is very very critical to martial arts. He needed to have control over every bit of his abs. One benefit of overtraining is that you gain muscle control.
His abs would have looked the same with 1/2 the workouts, but he wouldn't have had the same sort of control over his midsection.

common sense: ab exercise is until you lose the fat. concentrate on eating 5-6 small meals a day.
