View Full Version : Love... What's the Point???

It's those who are forunate that find TRUE love. It's the greatest feeling in the world to envelop yourself in someone else's life.. to share their happiness and pain... to be their sole source of comfort.
Love is amazing... it's beautiful. But what is the point of love if you can't be with the person you fall in love with all because of stupid beliefs? There is no point.
Many a time I hear the saying: It's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
If you ask me... that's bullshit... Why would you want to go through that pain?? Wouldn't you be better off not loving rather than giving your all for something, only to have it taken away once you've grown dependent on it?
Love is a war....... a neverending war... it swallows you like the black plague...it diminishes your soul entirely......and it kills you internally while you're forced to live, breathe and face it.
I'd rather brand my ass with "Fuck Off" than love someone.
Yes... this is me being emo. Allow me.
What's your take on it?? Diss & Cuss

Why do ppl worry about love so much. I mean jeeez, if it's gonna happen, then shit it's gonna happen. If it's real it's real and if it's not ..then it's not.
PPl complain so much about how love sucks bla bla , yet they always looking for a relationship or some kind of way to be with someone. Let love find you, true love will come when you least expect.
First thing, Love yourself. Cuz if you don't love yourself, don't expect for someone else to love you like that. PPl these days act as if they NEED To be in a relationship or that they need someone in their life a mate to love them ...Lot's of you need to pray...that's what you REALLY need to do.

A war on love. A so called "true love"....every relationship needs to be worked on. I don't believe you find that one true love. That perfect partner. That's all a crock of bull, and so is love.
It's just a mix of emotions and humans don't know how to express it. It's lust if anything.

I just find vanity to be a turn on. When someone thinks they're better than me, there's this sense of-- Competition for the lack of a better word. That creates fire [Love/lust..].

Diss & Cuss

If the love is true, I wouldn't give it up. It would hurt like crazy if the other person wants to give it up though, cuz they don't wanna deal with the drama/pain involved.
I'm not sure what your experience is, but by the sounds of it my experience is identical to yours, except i'm in your bfs position.
Wow.. I'm sorry to hear that hun.
well... I'm willing to give up everything and anything. And after realizing we can't be together... and after trying to stay positive.. i finally told him that it's better off to end things. But he refuses... he says we'll find a way.
The situation is... his family believes in horoscope matching (kundali matching).. it's supposed to determine whether you'll have a happy married life or whatnot. His pundit told him that if we get married we'll end up in divorce. What's worse is...the pundit says he will marry the next girl he falls in love with... who he predicted he will meet in 3 weeks. 3 WEEKS!
I've sacrificed alot to be with him simply because I know our love is true.... but he says his mother strongly believes in this and he can't go against her... (and unless they'd matched, there is no way we could be together) which i completely understand and i wouldn't want a man who'd turn against his mother anyway. But he doesn't want to end things. He says we need to keep faith and things will somehow work out on their own.

Do you think he's being honest and sincere? Or do you think it's possible for him to fall in love and marry someone in 3 weeks? Are the both of you the same religion?
I wish these things had a simple answer.. but there isn't any. If I were you though, I'd stick around for a little while at least, and see if there is potential for anything. It's good that he doesnt wanna hurt his parents, but who is he living for? If its true love, his parents should understand and let you to live your lives (and face the consequences too, hopefully not including divorce).
My situation is that I am Muslim, and my parents only believe in arranged marriage. My bf is christian, but willing to become Muslim (he studied it when he first met me, before we started dating) and my parents STILL WON'T accept him. It's bs. So he told me that I would have to choose, and he doesnt wanna be a homewrecker and pull me away from my parents, but he also wants to be with me more than anything in the world. And he knows its MY decision. I packed most of my stuff this morning, cuz he wants me to come live with him. I'm scared though, cuz it's like an irreversible decision. :Ohno:

Oh, that's the problem   Well, I'm glad you're able to understand that. And I think that...I don't know maybe if he really wanted it badly then he would have came around. I'm not trying to make you feel bad or say he doesn't love you. I don't know you two, and I'm not going to say he doesn't love you ya know? But you should NEVER have to ask him to choose. That's going too far. That's a decision he has to make on his own, his decision will have his ups and downs. And if chooses that over you, then it's something he'll just have to live with for the rest of his life, unfortunately, you also do too

Yeah, I would NEVER ask him to choose btwn me and his mother. That's not love... because I know he'd be miserable away from her... and as someone who loves him... I'd rather him stay with her and be happy...
You can always find another chic, but not another mother. His mother has been through alot... which is why he said he could give anything for me... but he can't sacrifice her... and i told him i wouldn't want him to.

Allow me.

Its a sense of security, a sense of feeling you've found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. It really bothers me when someone puts forth a question like "what is the point of love?" because I feel like those questions only emerge from someone who's single (obviously) or someone who's never been in love. Or maybe from a person who's not at the point in life where he starts thinking about love/marriage/family/children. I think any sane person would want to eventually spread his seed and start a family. Well, to have that, one would ideally need to get to the point where you want to start a family with someone you love, you're not going to start it with some bum you picked up on the side of the street. So really, the point of love is to find someone you can spend the rest of the life with, and not end up turning into a miserable fuck with no family.

Fuck, look at all these sob stories, they make me cry not because they elicit sadness but because they are pathetic.
All you bitches need to learn a fact in life, if you're with someone who's not fully into you, then you should gain some dignity and leave them, period.
Perhaps you should give them chances here and there to get their act together, but honestly, it's going to reach a level where your relationship is nothing more than a charade and you're wasting valuable time.
The only way to get over shit is to stop being such emo queens, pick yourself up and look for potential suitors. Relationships are based on investments, potential candidates are like business proposals, bitches are commodities. If an investment goes bad you try and do things to rectify the issue, but if its pathetic you bail. You find other opportunities.
Quit living in the past and discussing it amongst other emos.

Ok, baby, I read it now. I usually just go by the subject line.
Love is amazing... it's beautiful. But what is the point of love if you can't be with the person you fall in love with all because of stupid beliefs? There is no point.
If someone is not willing to compromise for love, then its not love at all.
IMO, love comes before a lot of aspects of your beliefs, be it religion (which I'm gonna guess is what this is directed towards) and you've got to be able to make sacrifices and compromises, likewise for the guy. You two have got to reach a middle ground on things that you might not agree with, and thats where love starts.
Falling madly for someone doesn't mean its love, love is something experienced between two people who are on the same page, and are willing to do some things that you otherwise might not have done.

Your potatoes in my cabbage soup?:DNaw, I've read what i needed to read to conclude how emo this shit is.
I mean seriously, its amazing how much people lack dignity in relationships but when they're single they're totally pretentious (like a lot of desi girls) -- they wouldn't even let God touch their clit.
And.. when they realise how dumb they have been and how much time they've wasted and how a guy's hand has been up their asses playing with their emotions.. their self esteem deteriorates even further..
Then they get all emo and defensive and they dickblock for ages. Til another man with enough charm comes along and plays with their emotions. Its a never ending cycle.
Girls never learn, its why mean exploit them and its why men are classified as 'jerks'.
Bitches, bitches, bitches - Is famous from the 70's, basically it means girls who are dependent or puppets to a "pimp". I use bitches underline girls who are vulnerable or are a puppet to emotions/persons/ideals. It may or may not have sexual connotations of slut etc. I dont mind peoples misintepretations as long as the expression in my mind is 'clear'.

Dude.... get your penis out of a knot. This thread is NOT about loving someone who doesn't love you as much. It's about two people loving each other equally yet going through crap because of society, family, religion, etc.

this is not about not 'fully being into someone'
its about uncontrollable problems that don't have anything to do with the two of you aka race, religion, family etc. nothing pathetic about that, and it doesnt mean you ditch the person and look for someone else. it means you work through itI've realised that but again, you're still a puppet to your famil/culture/religion.
You're not fully independant, you have mindset that subconsciously thinks about the thoughts of others and how they'll react to your current relationship.
You're bitching about it constantly.
The only reason why your family/religion/culture is even playing a part in this is because you're not the one in control.
Had you been far more independant, the decisions which you find difficult to make, would be much much easier.

Naw, I've read what i needed to read to conclude how emo this shit is.
But that's not always the case and I don't think it's the case here but even if it was maybe we all need to make some mistakes before we learn our lessons. It's easy for you to say what you say when you're not in a situation like this, but it's hard to think that way when you're heartbroken and can't stop thinking about the other person.

You're so off the topic at hand. This isn't about women who fall for guys who are playing them. I'm not stupid, nor vulnerable... yet at the end of the day I'm human and I have loved as any human does, will, or has. I think you've had fucked up experiences with women yourself and so you use that as a baseline to talk down to other women or make assumptions.

Girls play petty games because they don't have a proper conscience during a relationship that they become totally wrapt in awe to the point that they have to stop and use tactics on how to ensure 'he doesn't think im some slut to fuck around with'.
I can easily read females who toy with me and try and be pretentious. I stop and wonder and look in the mirror and say "look at me im a pretty boy with lots of money, im the most handsome desi bachelor ever, why would this bitch try and pretend she's too good for me".
Then i stop talking to them and realise that they were foolish.
A few months later i get abused by her friends for being a jerk and not giving 'her' enough attention.

I also recall your fetish for that fobby looking short indian dude in a thread a few months ago. You have some serious psychological issues which need to be addressed.
But granted, i'll say this, if you were independant:
1-Family, if you were your own lady and took hold of your life (grab destiny by its horns), progressively throughout your entire life, you'd subliminally be moving away from the grasp of your compuslive parents. This may entail wealth financially, doing things independantly, being mature. My parents were always conservative, but ive managed to be totally independant without any of their help.
2-Religion, piety is one thing, but ultra-piety is another. I think religion should be interpreted for its poetry and art, not necessarily its dogmatic fear enducing notion of going to hell/judgement blah blah.
3-Culture, I only consider the art and colour of culture, the traditional aspects as long as they dont oppress individuals.

:Ohno:
I hope everything works out for the two of you baby girl

Diss & CussWord.
I rather not love at all then to love someone and not have them. :(

But think you're being blinded by your ego. You think you have it all together and are so smart, but you don't and you're not. And you're not happy either.
Diss & Cuss

its better to NEVER love at all then to go through the pain that comes with it..
its sucky.. and makes ur life a living hell
love is confusing..
its like a drug.. u will get addicted to it.. and the person.. even when u know its bad..
and u have to get a daily dose of it or that person.. lol
