I'm considering getting a postgrad degree in math. A goal of mine is to apply advanced math to a field such as finance.

I'm looking at 2 possible types of programs, a math PhD or a mathematical finance/financial engineering MS. Does anyone have any experience with either of these degrees?

Any type of quantative type of degree is good for finance. You will have opportunities to work for hedge fund especially. Also, IB venture capital and trading.
