There are many sayings in the Holy Qur'an and hadith and if you people know any please care to share them ....
Here is 1 i like by Abu Huraira. (Hadith)
Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven (Bukhari, Muslim).
Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: If anyone omits his fast even for one day in Ramadan without a concession or without being ill, then if he were to fast for the rest of his life he could not make up for it (Bukhari).
Abu Huraira related that the Prophet said: Allah the Majestic and Exalted said: "Every deed of man will receive ten to 700 times reward, except Siyam (fasting), for it is for Me and I shall reward it (as I like). There are two occasions of joy for one who fasts: one when he breaks the fast and the other when he will meet his Lord" (Muslim).
Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: Many people who fast get nothing from their fast except hunger and thirst, and many people who pray at night get nothing from it except wakefulness .

Hadith :
The last Prophet used to open his fast ' with a glass of pani and khujoor only .
He strived the best during Ramadan .
When we fast we show love and affection to those who have no food ' even at this moment and we make a statement : we are with you ! and we will share your pain during this blessfull month .

Fasting is 1 of the pillars of Islam and it forms a foundation to keep the shelter up .
They say which is quite Intresting ......
When we die and we are in our graves ... Fasting will be 1 of the guards against all snake and scorpions that get sent out to nibble on us .
May Allah save us from the punishment of the grave . :(

Fasting has many medical benefits and it teaches Muslims to take care of their health and too build strong bodies. The Prophet (may Allah send His blessing and peace upon him) said, "A strong believer is better and is more beloved to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone." (Muslim)

* The khuloof of the mouth of a fasting person is sweeter in the estimation of Allah than the fragrance of musk.
* The angels keep praying to Allah to forgive them (i.e. those who are fasting), until they break their fast.
* Allah decorates Jannah every day saying to it, 'My pious slaves are about to be relieved of their burdens and sufferings and enter you'.
* Satans are chained in this month, so that they are not able to accomplish their evil .
* The believers' sins are forgiven by the last night of Ramadan.

well this is where the magic happens in our graves ......
God will protect us from 1 side of the punishment by using our fast and the good deeds we gained in them , and they will be a shield to keep away snakes and scorpions and other punishment prepared.

no im saying that the bible misses out 18 years of Jesus' life, and if u do a lil research you will learn of buddhists texts which allude to a figure from Israel who was regarded as a prophet...look at the lives of buddha and jesus and u will see a lot of similarities in their teachings, could it be that jesus was familiar with the buddhist teachings??
and no, there are no desi prophets in islam, but the subcontinent does have its own religious figures who can be regarded as prophets...such as Krishna and buddha...

Do you honesltly believe that a God so merciful and Compasionate would sentence someone to hell for simply following a path slightly different that Islam(I say slightly because at the skeleton of all religions the message is nearly identical)? Does it seem right? If God would do that it gives him the characteristic of being Unmerciful, Unreasonable, Unforgiving...in that case he ceases to be GOD/Allah/Jehovah/Waheguru/Bhagvan, am I correct?
Imagine your at a series of splits in the roads...Say that the road breaks into 5 different paths. At the first one it reads Islam, the second Christianity, the third Judiasm, the fourth Hinduism, and the Fifth Sikhism. On the bottom of all these signs written is "Notice:All of these paths lead to the same Destination if followed correctly." This is the part that most people fail to read.

Well you tell me if they all are right '
Then why would the most-excellence send different prophets ... :
Maybe "god" sent different prophets in order to reach different corners of the globe....
my frend...prophets are nothing more than individuals who have developed a sense of understanding about themselves and of society, some prophets reach a state of enlightenment where they can perform miracles and others are born to lead large groups of people for the sake of unity...
This "enlightenment" may be referred to in the third person as an act of "god" as do most semitic faiths...no religions are true and no religions are false, it is up to the individual and how he/she practises the faith...
Is it not that he was trying to complete the beliefs ?
May-be the previous prophets did not complete Gods task ?
Prophet's vary in their convictions aswell, look at ure religion...look at the difference between Isa and Mohammad...In the bible when Isa was asked whether it was ok to stone a woman to death for adultery he looked at them and said "he who is without sin shall cast the first stone"... such an attitude conflicts with Islam...becoz Islam supports the death penalty for adultery whereas Isa, a figure within Islam himself tried to avoid such punishments... prophets are all contradictory becoz their teachings are based on context
Was God not trying to tell us there is 1 religion that will lead to me in a beautiful and happy way rather then stumbling ?

Religion in itself is merely an institution, what matters is the social harmony which takes place as a result of that religion being preached...

Islam is not suitable for all societies, becoz its such a rigid social structure, it may be right for u, but it isn't right for all people...christianity was not sent just for Israel, jesus chose not to preach to the gentiles becoz they were hostile towards the Israelites, however later on he did tell his disciples to preach all over the world...eg. he sent St Thomas to India to spread the message..."Christianity" in my opinion should actually be called "Paulinism" becuase it was paul who turned the teachings of a peaceful man like jesus into a religious institution (thats why i disagree with christianity but i like the teachings of jesus)...

Islam has a rigid social structure, its called "Sharia Law"...more rigid than other faiths...
Jesus was not sent only for the Israelites, if jesus was sent only for the israelites then why did St Thomas come to india in the year 52 AD and preach the teachings of jesus to my ancestors who hence forth became on of the first group of christians outside the middle east??...read the bible man, jesus told his disciples to preach his (jesus') philosophy all over the world...he didnt come just for the Israelites...and also, a lot of evidence (religious historical records kept in kashmir) suggests that he (jesus) lived in India during his 15 yr absence from the bible...the pieces fit, he lived in india where he learned from the buddhists and the hindus, and taught there aswell...
So where did this crap about him being sent only for the jews come from?

God would send different prophets so that all people of the world can recieve God's message...thats written in the Quran...in the quran it does say that god sent many prophets throughout the world...hence the development of many religions based on this many prophets...
A prophet is one who prophesises in spiritual matters...
Mohammad was just another man who had a message thats all, just like all the other prophets of the past...and personally i dont find Mohammads teachings that relevant in my life so yeh...all these prophets came to spread a message regarding the human condition, thats all...
Im not getting tangled...i just see things differently...

lol ok if you have to go we discuss later .
btw correction for the term Prophet :
A prophet is a person who has directly encountered God, of whose intentions he can then speak.
Now Jesus was a Prophet sent from God - he preached about 1 god to the unitarians and he told them he was only a prophet . He spoke of another man coming ..... ( I can show u the quote in the bible ).
He was Allah's most beloved and he is Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) lol and he was not a simple man he was to set examples for mankind which a Prophet named Jesus (isa) could not do because each prophet is gifted with a gift and Isa was the chosen 1 as a miracle worker.
Just like noah interacted with animals .
Muhammad (p.b.u.h) was the man gifted with true Knowlege and Allah inspired him 1 night .

Thats a Good question.
In order to become a muslim I have to believe that only Islam is the right religion and none else...Clearly Im a very against that aspect of the religion.
Just saying to myself that, a good hearted individual cannot go to Heaven just because he isnt muslim simply doesnt sound rite to me.
I am not Muslim because I dont want to do anything half assed(believe in everything except the part bout only Islam being right). I follow Hinduism in which I believe that a Good hearted Muslim will attain Salvation.
Being Muslim you cant say that I, being Hindu, will go to Jannat, can you? NO...But Thats fine, cuz at the end of the day God knows best.
Sorry If I sound as if Im tryin to impose my beliefs on you, its just I cant think of another way to put it.

lol ok if you have to go we discuss later .
btw correction for the term Prophet :
Muhammad (p.b.u.h) was the man gifted with true Knowlege and Allah inspired him 1 night .
well sed

From The angle you are lookin from, the grass looks like Islam.
From my angle It looks like Hinduism.
Some one lookin from the other side can see Christianity.
Theres a person sitting in the middle of the grass field:
From where you are looking, he looks like Prophet Muhammad.
From where Im standing he looks like Krishna.
The other dude's perception of the dude is Jesus

Lok ok ...
You have spoken your own statement ' so now you will admit Islam is different from all other religions . So why is it standing alone and unique.
Allah is the most merciful ' he forgives but he will not favour those who turn their backs on him .
Islam is the religion of humanity - and it was sent for us all.
You telling me that you as a hindu ' and your god will accept me as a muslim ' weird then why have religion hinduism as your label ? Islam is the label for Humanity . Even at hajj it protrays the true image of every color people' different ethnics ' young and old rich and poor dressed in white forming unity.
Christians dont even know their gods name ? HE is no 1 but Allah and Prophet Muhammad revealed the name . His the Prophet that came after Isa(jesus) remember that he perfected the error religion christianity to Islam .

Out of all of them which religion came to mankind last .
Islam believes in them prophets you named but the prophet to come as the seal of prophets is Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h).
Now about saying what angle we are on ...
How about this ......... GOD WATCHING OVER ALL OF US .
Surely Almighty God has the best angle now ? and he has shown us all the path and mentioned the prophets in the holy qur'an and perfected Islam for us . :D

Its not...Many other religions claim that other religions are false. Christianity does, and I think Judiasm too.
Allah is the most merciful ' he forgives but he will not favour those who turn their backs on him .
No ones turning their backs on God by following a diff path
Islam is the religion of humanity - and it was sent for us all.

I dunn understand this comment. Yes he will accept you, what do you mean why I say Im Hindu? Becuase I am. As a Hindu I am telling you that your belief system is not false. I just dont agree with it, By me not agreeing with it does not make it false by any means, I simply choose to take a different road to the grocery store than you(follow diff religion to attain salvation).
Yes there are many diff races at Hajj, but there are not people of many diff faiths, becuase Hajj is for Muslims only. If some one of a dif religion wanted to go, they couldnt.
Cheistians dont even know their gods name ? HE is no 1 but Allah and Prophet Muhammad revealed the name . His the Prophet that came after Isa(jesus) remember that he perfected the error religion christianity to Islam .
Christians call him God. As do muslims. As do Hindus.

it's not about converting others....i say each to their own...but they never leave me to practice my religion...
Then when i try to explain islam to them they think im trying to convert them...
Knowledge should be shared, it's an ocean deep enough for all of us to swim in....
I believe that islam gives me what i require from a faith....and if hinduism or christianity gives other what they require then that's ok too....
I wish to learn all i can about islam and then try to learn as much as about other religions as possible...
My religion does not teach me to be ignorant but rather understanding!

i can honestly with my hand on my heart say without a doubt that nobody is perfect, in light of that....that leaves us in a position to judge nobody...
allah is the one who shall judge....and i can't or won't say if a non-mislim would enter jannat or not....
i mean what if a non muslim saves a muslim from being raped or murdered....that in itself is a deed good enough to enter jannat...then you tell me you can't enter jannat because you're not muslim....
Allah chooses to guide those that believe in him and leaves directions for those that are lost...
we my friends are all lost...i hope and pray that we all find the true path which we believe that shall please our god...and somewhere in the light of good deeds may we all enter jannat....

The real beauty of Islam is to take it anywhere in the world and to include it in your life without disrupting others lives....
Islam has to compete with no other religion, as no other religion should have to compete with islam...
Islam is not a threat....it's a certain way of life, a certain mould...that changes it's shape as it enters new surroundings...islam is not closed to opinions...yet it has the answers to all the unanswered questions....
This life is nothing but a journey, and islam is our map!
