im a liverpool supporter and i was happy to see us get through...JUST. the one thing i hate about us is zonal marking, its pointless and we look so shaky. if we mark man-4-man then theres assurance that no opposition player is free. i also hate long balls, everytime i saw hyypia hoofing it i was shouting at the tv! plus its a shame sissoko got injured hes such a great player and my personal favourite.

football fans what are you thoughts on zonal marking? or what do yuo hate about the team u support?

zonal marking/man marking eh either way you just gotta be a good defender thats all really i dont have much of an opinion on marking.

exactly! is every man marked a man then no attakers can get through. and to what akuza said hyypia was always looking for the killer pass. nice and simple build up would have been more effective

zonal markin is wrong u need to pick ur man and the way liverpool wer defending they have to attack the ball u can never beat sumone to da ball is they have a running start

Zonal marking is a much more effective way of marking....if done correctly.

International team adopt the zonal system so, why is it such a stigma when a club does it?

Liverpool's defensive records speaks for itself. 3rd best defence last year in Premiership I think :sarb:

As long as your have the defenders, zonal marking will be a much more reliable system than man-marking

yerp they were ahead of chelsea. jose reina is top class but it was carragher and hyypia who protectd him!
