dunno bout KANK (havent seen yet)
but most of kal ho naa ho was shot in Toronto, ON.
NY was only used as establishing and background shots, the skyline of nyc, etc etc.... rest was in TO

Personally, I feel that NYC is getting played out. I think they should try another city like Chicago or Seattle. Some variation would be nice. If all the movies are done in NYC it kinda hurts the excitement.
