Alright, i know I can read this on a lot of websites (already have) but how does one begin the process of starting up a limited company.
Has anyone got experience?
How long does it take?
Id like to hear from someone whos already done it before. What things should one look out for?

lol, i was asking more about the legal side, like registering for VAT, filling in all those forms etc.
There are websites like
http://www.samedaycompany.co.uk/
Would i be better off doing it all myself or going through an agent? If anyone here is from UK and has a limited company itd be cool if they could give me some advice on this.

By limited company you’re referring to an Cooperation Company, right? Anyways it depends on your country requirements and laws… what type of business are you planning on opening – selling product or service?

Registering a Limited company is fairly easy and cheap to do. All you need to really do is appoint a director and secretary and give an address as your registered office. VAT registration is the tricky bit. You need a business account, proof of trading or intent to trade. VAT registration is only required if your turnover is over 60k, or unless you were going to do some dodgy shit.

Haven't read all the posts, if I'm repeating anything apologies in advance.
I'm an accountant, however NOT a tax accountant. You need to get advice from a taxation accountant.
Ltd = Companies House
Self employed/taxation = Inland Revenue
VAT = Customs and Excise
why do you want to be registered for VAT. Being VAT registered means you'll just have to fill in extra paperwork and separately account for VAT i.e Extra cost. Unless there is a distinct advantage because of the type of business you are in. Although it also depends on your turnover there is a compulsory registeration where if your turnover is greater than £60/65K (or there abouts) you have to register.
