The Liverpool boss has been busy strengthening his squad for an assault on next season's Premiership title and, along with the high profile capture of Craig Bellamy from Blackburn, he's been quick to bring in further additions from all over the world.

On Tuesday the Reds' completed the signing of Argentinain defender Gabriel Paletta from Banfield, with Benitez predicting he could become an inspirational leader in the Jamie Carragher mould.

And yesterday was a day of double celebration at the club as Fabio Aurelio became the first Brazilian to sign for the Reds and Mark Gonzalez finally got the green light to begin his Liverpool career after the Reds' secured a work permit for the Chilean international.

me think Gonzales will take the premieship by storm this season, his pace, his tricks, and his skills........untoucable......left and right foot...a young marc overmars. With Fowler, crouch, ad Bellemy goals will come.

Team talk also say he is going for Jaoquin for £15m but i cant get into the site....post the story if you can.........also another striker......with cisse heading to marseille.

Liverpool are set to make a £15million swoop for highly-rated Spain winger Joaquin after Real Betis admitted they were 'ready to do business'.

The wide man has just returned from World Cup duty and has made it clear that he intends to leave Betis for a new challenge this summer.

Betis' new president Pepe Leon admits he will cash in if the right offer comes along.

He said: "Betis would be equally happy to keep Joaquin or to have their coffers full. There have always been a lot of teams after the player, but nobody has yet decided to make the final move."

Spanish sources suggest Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez will offer £10million plus Antonio Barragan, Jerzy Dudek and Bolo Zenden to land their man.

Benitez has made no secret of his desire to sign a right winger this summer and has also been linked with a move for Birmingham's Jermaine Pennant.

Benitez is also keen to concentrate on the acquisition of a new striker with Feyenoord's Dirk Kuyt still high on his hit list.

Benitez has been chasing Sevilla's Daniel Alves, but he has refused to meet the £12million asking price, and that deal looks dead.

man....its a very exciting time to be a liverpool fan. my season ticket came in last yr so i got to see the reds a lot more than usual. renewed it, and i cant wait to see the south americans and bellamy rip up the premiership. aurellio is an amazing player.....hes gonna have an impact like sissoko. btw guys, what u think of the addidas? the badge looks huge, but its still a tasty design.

Kuyt was due back for pre-season training at Feyenoord on Monday but the club ha ve given him seven days off to sort out his future.
