I think its important that we remember that the World Cup isnt about the history or politics of a country but about pure football and the joy it brings to everyone. The Iranians are in a middle of a confrontation with the west, the Ivory Coast was fighting a civil war, etc. but all this was set aside for a sport and thats the beauty of the World Cup.
