i think they should be banned. in boarding school we had like our own rules during inter house matches. basically if you do like a nasty ass tackle. the ref would make you sit on the sideline for like 10 minutes. like a sin bin. this was great because the match still stayed even and none of the passion was taken out. it gave the kid a chance to cool down and realize that hes fucking up his teams chances.

I would disagree. you cant have somebody do a "nasty ass" tackle and allow them to get away with it.why? Well if the person who got tackled has to get stretchered off the ground, the team needs to substitute the injured player and considering in prof matches you only get 3 subs per match that wouldnt be very fair if the guy who tackled you is back on the pitch after 10mins.It might work work for less serious offences, like dissent or unsportsmanlike behavior but that would create too many stop-start issues and possibly ruin the flow of the game
