Bill Gates to leave Microsoft

I just heard on Bloomberg news that Bill Gates will leave the company in 2008. He will remain as Chairman.

Ray Ozzie will be named Chief Software Architect
Craig Mundi named Research and Strategy chief
Bill Gates will work full time for his foundation; part time for MS after 2008.

bill never reached the trillion dollar mark did he. right before he did he spent some enormous amount of money on setting up the research for aids/cancer etc.

he's a good man. his business is ruthless but Steve Jobs is worse. that guy hoards his money.

Bill Gates is only worth £27bn or thereabouts (I say that like 27bn is nothing) but yeah, the reason its only the amount it is, is due to the vast amounts of money he spends on the less fortunate.

The guy is a pretty good man.

im from st george's hospital in london and bill gates gave the research department of our medical school and hospital millions to fund AIDS research, because here at st george's they're making HUGE strides towards a possible AIDS vaccination and as soon as gates heard of this, he immediately ploughed money in. it's a multi-centre project, across several english institutions and he's putting so much into the project as a whole, it's kinda touching that the guy cares so much to put so much money in. bravo bill gates!
