What’s up with America rehashing stupid old movies?

Okay, ONCE in a while, I wouldn’t mind a remake. Who doesn’t mind seeing a classic movie being remastered once in a while? Or seeing it bigger, better and badder than ever. HOOOOWEVER, they are one TOO MANY fucking remakes. In the last like 10 years, America has been doing remakes of movies like there was no tomorrow. I am so sick of this shit. Then the thing that bothers me is that everyone RUSHES too see the next remake, they seen 10 YEARS AGO.

What the fuck? Shit I can’t even begin to count the endless amount of remakes. And YES, American films have been making remakes. Not saying other countries don’t, but at least other countries, try and be innovative, different, and try to stand out more (except for Bollywood movies, they are nothing but blatant rip-offs with some of their films). They are few and more between with remakes. I’m sure none of you saw City Of God (Brazillian Film), Run Lola Run (German Film), Trainspotting (Scottish film), and other foreign innovative films I can list, and pay homage too. If not foreign films they are indeed some American INDEPENDENT films that are great however, none of you will never know about.

I’m so sick of these stupid movies being remade. I’ll give a little list of only a FEW amount of these lame ass remakes that have been rehashed in the last 10 years or are going to be (in no particular order):

1) King Kong (remade 3 times!) And one of the most overrated movies I seen, ever. Anything that has stupid monkeys are giant apes going crazy in and running amok in NYC is overrated. Because NYC itself is overrated. Sorry to go off topic.

2) War Of The Worlds

3) The Hills Have Eyes

4) The Fast And The Furious (First one, a more drastic, hippier, trendier remake of course)

5) Dawn Of The Dead (This is an exception AWESOME remake, but it still further proves my point)

6) The Omen

7) Four Brothers

8) Carey

9) The whole 9 Yards (or whatever its called)

10) Poisedon

11) When a Stranger Calls

12) Oceans 11

13) Superman (FUCK SUPERMAN, he’s just a nice hot piece of pussy for kryptonite)

14) Texas Chainsaw Massacre

15) Romeo and Juliet

16) Batman Returns (Lame)

17) The Ring (YES dumbass. It was a Japanese film first, then the Americans remade it)
18) Psycho

19) The Italian Job

20) Scarface

21) Thomas Crown Affair

HOLY SHIT. There’s much more! That’s’ not even half of it. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE REMAKE OF HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE!!!

I am growing so sick of remakes. Where’s the originality? If not something original, at least some GREAT! Fuck, movies, are at least most American movies are so fucking predictable these days. Cliché, cliché, cliché after cliché.

Nothing worthy of my time. Then what pisses me off that everything that comes out is so fucking “GREAT!” to everyone. BULLSHIT. I know most just say its great to feel like they got their money’s worth.

If its not remakes, then it’s a movie based on a boring true story, or some novel/and or comic book. Shit, I won’t even start with that.

If you were the owner of a store, would you keep something in stock if no one buys it?

man don't get me started.

It pisses me off too.

ya know they are ripping off so many Korean movies and people don't even know about it.

I can name like 4-5 right of the top of my head that they are ripping off as we speak.

Fucking Hollywood. Wouldn't know an original idea if it slapped them in the face.

I know what you mean, but I am not talking about owning a movie store. However, if I did have a movie store, I won't lie, of course I would want people to buy the movies they want to buy. At the same time, though, I would definately have movies that no one would know about, but introduce it to them. Like have a section in my store that reads "Best Movies I reccomend that you Never saw".

Other than that, I just think American-Films continue to just flourish in the rehasing, and it really annoys me. Of course to them its all about the money. I can care less though for seeing the same shit.

I WANT SOMETHING NEW AND ORIGINAL!

You have to admit, they're still a thousand times more entertaining than watching a bollywood film with the same shitty matrix bullet time that still can't come close to the original even 7 years after from its release date.

Yeah, that's so true it hurts. I hate Bollywood. I just watch it for the hot Indian babes.

That's a good idea, I wish blockbuster or someone did that. I was asking a rhetorical question, as in, would you, the movie producer, create movies that very few people would watch.. only because it's different? You have to blame the people that watch this unoriginal tripe

Well, to be completely honest, and I know a lot of people might think I am bullshitting, but I would indeed, make something different and original. Even if no one really would watch it. If no one in the U.S. would like it, then there might be a market in another country. Like Europe, Asia, etc.

In the end I rather be true to myself. OF COURSE, I want to make some major bucks. But if my movie-producing career doesn't work out, I'll have something on the side to secure myself financially.

I rather be known and respected for doing something or trying something different. The money would be GREAT no doubt, but money isn't always the case.

That's what indie movies are all about, and they're for people like you and I. I've just learned to take mainstream movies with a grain of salt, because they can be slightly entertaining with all their cliches and corniness. If I'm looking for something deep and different though, I check out movies that aren't advertised.
