Why so few Nobel Prize winners and patents from the Arab and Muslim World?

I don't understand. Arabia use to be the fountain of knowledge and philosophy, but now nothing. They produce nothing and patent nothing. I just can't grasp. I mean in a pool of 1 billion observant muslims there should be thousands of patents, inventions, literature, and nobel prize winners. I just don't understand. Someone explain to me why.

Hey fratty, like you said, the Muslim world used to be the fountain of knowledge and everyone used to goto Muslims to acquire knowledge. Now it is the other way around... because of the various issues involved.

Well still there are a lot of muslims in Western countries. Why are they still lacking scienitific achievement. India, China, and Israel have problems. China and India still have a lot of poverty but still turn out patents. Why is this so? I mean there are over 1.5 billion muslims. Yet very few Nobel Prize winners. Compare that to all the Jewish scientists and theorists. They have won a lot of Nobel Prizes. Malayasia and Indonesia don't have that many problems.

Chandrashekar was South Indian. He was born in "Pakistan" (pre-Independence) because his father was stationed there as a senior railway official. He was educated in India and England.

The fact that he won the Nobel prize in physics and not bhangra should tell you he was not Punjabi, or whatever it is you are trying to imply.
