i only got into them because of sing the sorrow, and i used to think that was their best until i actually examined their older stuff in depth
and man have they gone downhill, this album is terrible, and its that much worse because ive been waiting for so long for it

not sure, im not into the whole buying of music thing
but it was leaked like last week, thats how i got it, i think you're right about the 666 thing (as if their music even deserves such association)
i could deal with the music being all technoish and poppish, but have you seen davey havok in the miss murder video? makes me look like the straightest guy on the planet .. like wtf happened to him?
i dont say this much, but this is a perfect example of what people call selling out

yeah i dont usually either but since theyre one of my top 10 fave's im actually gunna buy their cd n not burn it..
666 isn't really even the "devil's number" its actually something else..
well.. davey havok has always dressed like that.. im not surprised about how he looks.. have u seen him in the "days of the phoenix" video?
a lotta ppl have said theyve "sold out" with the "sing the sorrow" album b/c its poppissh n not really punk.. but afi's always been punk-goth-pop and
i'm not into bashing bands like that..
i mean ppl get sick of the same style all the time... so i can only assume that bands do too.
all i know is afi's lyrics are pure poetry and davey havok's voice is.. lovely :)

he definitely looked more manly, and more like the crow back then, and now it's just like a dead woman's corpse
people may have said they sold out at sts, but wait til they hear this, it just lacks the same emotion that i've grown to love... but it's good in a different way, i guess it's not a bad thing really, but i would have preferred another sts, it woulda still been fresh
at least you're right about the lyrics and vocals, it's what keeps them in my top 3 list, and i would buy the album... but i am going to see them in a few weeks, and they already got enough of my money from that

I don't know, I don't think it's so much of a let-down as it is another progression. It took time for it to grow on me, as did "Sing the Sorrow" - but I definitely still love the way Davey and the boys work. To each their own, I suppose.

it took me alot longer to realize it than most, but this album is actually really really good, i love it so much, not as much as sing the sorrow, but pretty damn close

Aye... the way I see it, the new material they are coming out with is transcendent, especially when compared to their old hardcore roots. "Sing the Sorrow" was definitely their break-out album and tripled their fanbase, and with good reason. I'm happy for them.

i hate it when people say that sing the sorrow was when afi went downhill, and they "prefer their older stuff"
sure i like their older stuff, but nothing even remotely came close to anything on sts, i think it's perfection
the only reason i didnt like decemberunderground at first was because i was expecting another sts, or at least some of their old stuff, but now i think its my 2nd favorite afi album

oh yeah, what's your favorite songs so far?
i went to their concert last week, it was alright, i wish they toured with someone better than dillinger escape plan though, i've never heard worst music in my life
it was my first real concert with a big name band, and it was ok, it definitely sounds worse in real life, but the energy of the crowd is alot more amazing than expected
alot of strange fucks though, with alot of strange shit going down
plus my gf met up with one of her childhood friends, and they flirted so much, and it pissed me off.. even though i said i wouldnt let things like that bother me... he's a way better version of me though which is the worse thing
if she didnt fellate me afterwards, i would probably still be mad
all in all 10/10, i dont think ive ever had so much fun in my life
on a side note, i cant believe there's so many desi rockers, i feel pretty generic now.. and they all have mohawks and colored hair and shit, and im here with my average emo cut, not even spiked or anything

MAN I hate u! i wanted to go to that concert.. ugh they were soo close to me.. in nyc.. but i ended up not being able to go :(
and theyre not gunna be playin the warped tour set on the date that im going!!
but yeah idk theres a lota songs i like. i wish they put a bit slower songs.. like "the leaving song part 1" where its just davey singing n a guitar.. but maybe hes not as sad as he was those days. oh man those lyrics tho.. esp for miss murder.. just confirms his disbelief of God or w/e.. but neway umm
idk i love Kill Caustic, Affliction, the Killing Lights, Summer Shudder, 37 MM.. lol I love em all really. Not as much as I love sing the sorrow but this is still.. AFI.. like you can still feel afi in the album and i love it lolz.
Yeah wenever I go to warped tour n i see a desi guy.. hes always like spiked n shit n usually fukin hot lol.. n theres always some hijabi rocker chicks there too.. man I can't wait for warped tour this year.. always so fun, even if the lineup sucks this year.
lol i think the only reason y my guy is gunna go to warped tour with me (hes into jazz n classical) is b/c some of my guy friends r going n one of them is my ex's best friend n theres a chance my ex might b there.. =P

Dillinger's an acquired taste, man. I don't like their most recent album though. Calculating Infinity is a mathematical masterpiece.

I think the Art of Drowning is the best it has that song "Wester" is actually quite romantic.
I think the singer and the rest of the band look queer , which naturally comes with white guys.

only jade and davey look gay, coincidentally, they're the most talented in the band
anyways, it's good to see that you at least have good taste in music
