lol thats the first time i've honestly been called a fob
anyways, i doubt most of those guys went to university, thus proving my point
even if they did, i doubt their fanbase consists of much educated people
rap is a poor thing

Actually, these days its an "everybody thing".
I'm pretty sure that the majority of rap fans out there are educated white suburban kiddies... thus disproving your point.
Try not to be so stereotypical of "rap". :D

Hey stop hating so much, ur such an herb. Hip-Hop is taking over. Rock music pffff if that's what your in into doesnt really send out useful meassages like real hip-hop does, Is it that you're too thick to understand the lyrics? U talk about people being uneducated and bla bla bla. trust me, they allways wanted to be but cause of the state and corruption of the skools, they just backed down.
Now stop hating, and accept the fact that your kids are goin to be into hiphop. u dont have to reply.

that makes it better?
When did i say it was "better"?
I'm a fan of all types of music.. hip hop/rap/alternative/techno/trance/rock..
I wouldn't typecast any 1 type as "better" than the other as everyone has their own personal preferences. "Real" rap/hip hop (not this commerical BS thats mainstream) does have a message if u really listen to its lyrics...

rap would have never been popular if it wasn't for uneducated minorities
most suburban youth should not be able to associate with the message of rap, it's just because its the in thing to do
and even then, rap sorta faded out of popularity this year in alot of areas i visited
even before, all the forms of rock combined greatly outwhelmed the popularity of rap
i doubt my kids will be listening to it, it won't even be around as a popular form of music 25 years from now

to each his own. hip-hop is not my cup of tea, but i respect it as an equal form of art to any other type of music.

I'm all into equality and saying you can appreciate different things, but on different levels, but the actual background music in hip hop is the least complex thing ever. Some metal songs are even more complex than most classical music, and they have the same deep message and lyrics in them. All hip hop is, is basically singing to a generic beat, which doesn't take alot of talent to make.
Anyways, I do like some hip hop, but not songs that take themselves seriously, it just doesn't sound good. Fun club type hip hop is alright once in a while.

hip hop is just another genre of music that is goin to have its fame and die out eventually when something bigger takes over....might not happen in the near future but it will happen

Okay it seems I should clarify with the intent of this post. I meant to say that ALL hiphop is New York culture since thats where it came from. All of these southern rappers today, all of the westcoast rappers, all rappers in general, are expressing a form of New York culture. So when a rapper starts to attack the city their artform came from, it makes them look like a fool.

nope all hip hop cant be new york culture...it has come from other very important cities from the world too.....like chicago.....which is also heavily populated with youth listening to hip hop and making hip hop.....if the other way round new york is all hip hop is not true either because you can find jazz bars which just as popular...and theatre arts like operas....pop and rock play major roles too

I disagree, all hiphop is new york culture because that is where it started.
It's like saying a Bollywood flick isn't Indian culture because it was filmed elsewhere.
