The girl I used to be with was 22 and I'm 20, she was 20 and I was 18 when we started off, most of the time we never even noticed the age difference, so if the guy has a mature personality, age should only be a number

Hey, Arjun Rampal's wife is 8 years older than him...If a guy as fine as him doesn't care, then why not? ...... :wavey:
This guy I'm crushing on isn't technically a Mumbai native, but he's pretty damn hot.
He told his dad that he liked me and that he thought I was nice. That could mean anything of course. :p
:P if it helps you, then i am currently dating my best friend of 3 years who is younger than me. about 2-2.5 years difference, but he's far more mature than the older guys i've dated (my ex was an emotionally unstable controlling 25 year old). having been close friends for 3 years, we've developed a fairly good understanding and like someone else mentioned, the age difference doesn't even seem apparent. i feel his maturity matches mine. people think he's about 23/24 (he's mostly gone after older women anyway...) and think i'm 17/18 and it sounds similar in your case :) lol. if i knew the guy really well and could trust him to be emotionally stable and mature enough to handle a commitment, then by all means, go for it. age doesn't really matter. it's just another one of those things that society traditionally expects us to conform to but hell :) if i had been conforming to the traditional standards, then i would be missing out on one of the best experiences in my life...which is dating my best friend :D
the thing that initially concerned me was that if down the line we became serious enough to tie the knot, then i can see our parents having a few issues with it, but it's not serious enough for me to not give it a chance.
i loved the arjun rampal example. ;) there are many others of course so it shows that it's not really that hopeless afterall.

I think Saif Ali Khan's ex-wife was 10 years older than him too (not sure).
Is your bf the guy that is kissing you in your profile pic? If he is, you guys look so cute there.
Yes, Saif Ali Khan was another one of my favorites but then they divorced :(
and yes, that is indeed the same guy. ;) thanks.

I mean, as an example, my boyfriend knows exactly what he wants, knows exactly how he wants to get there, and works his ass off to do so. It is his maturity that lends to his determination and disciplined self to realize and attain his goals in life. Even myself, I knew what I wanted to do and here I am doing it, and I can relate numerous other examples of people i've known. As far as my experience goes, the determination, motivation, and maturity weren't entirely present as I would expect them to be in an older man. The key factor in making any relationship work is maturity and age is something that doesn't always necessarily determine that.

:D that's awesome, well, the good news is that you know what you want and you're working on getting it. you'll be far happier than those poor unfortunate souls who get stuck doing jobs that are more chore than passion. yea, i will agree, most people don't know what they want out of life, don't know where they wanna go. in a way, that's cool, it's exciting...but i mean, the fact that they just go for whatever makes them...i don't know...kind of boring you know. it's like...they'll settle for whatever they can get without pushing themselves further. i think that's what really makes me respect him...that he is his own person, won't settle for anything but the best, and his confidence and capability of achieving his goals through sheer determination alone...a quality that is rare in most people, particularly as you pointed out...at that age. anyway, i'll quit rambling about that. :) the playful immaturity is always fun as long as there is enough maturity for to make a committed relationship work. ;) anyway, definitely happy for you on realizing your goals along with realizing a happy solid relationship :D all the more power to you.
