why do it online? Go to a casino with some friends, it'll be a nice day out.

Play the slots if you must.

I'm not willing to wait, though. A little risk is ok, but the return has to be soon. Like, no longer than 6 months.

You need about between £500K to £1m for this but will turn into a good profit.

1. Check your pocket to make sure you have the million.
2. Get a hold of Paris Hiltons representative, tell her your company wants to put her name on your sunglasses.
3. If she agrees, hire a sunglasses manufacturer and have them design 10 styles for you and send the sunglasses to Paris Hilton so she could approve them.
4. Let her know your giving her £100k to do a photoshot with the sunglasses and £500k annually for using her name.
Sign a contract for 5 years.
5. Hire a sales representative, that has contacts with quality department stores across Europe and US.
6. Place a order for 80,000 sunglasses (should cost £3.00 for each made, total £240,000)
7. Tell your sales representative to start selling to major retailers across Europe and US. Assume you get 1000 outlets to retail.
8. I suggest retail price of £49.99 each, so you will need to sell wholesale for £23 each and I say 10 units should be sold a week.
Wholesale £23 - £3 for product = £20 each unit
1000 stores x 10 units = 10,000 units per week
10,000 units per week x £20 = £200,000 per week
£200,000 x 52 weeks = 10.4m per year
£10.4m - £1m for magazine ads = £9.4m
£9.4m - £500,000 to Paris for using her name = £8.9m
£8.9m - payroll, rent and taxes so lets say thats 60% = £3,560,000.

Thats £3.5 million profit after tax. Per year. The £1m advertising budget can probably incrementally decrease after year 1-5.

Now do you have £1m to invest?

Buy a slightly run down house (20-30 years old), use your capital to put a down payment and renovate it.

Put it back on the market and sell it off.

The real money in property is not to sell it. Its to keep it. every 7 years a property price doubles. In the UK at least anyway...

desi_balla63
April 12th, 2006, 05:54 PM
I wouldn't say doubles...but it definately goes up significantly.

The house we're selling right now will end up selling for about 175k, and we got it around 120k. That's over a span of 10 years, though. This wasn't a new developing neighborhood or anything, though.

The one we're moving into right now, we just bought and got it appraised or whatever, and the value already went up about 15k, just because of the niehgborhood and it's still relatively new. If I had some money I could put on the side, I'd buy one of the houses around mine, and put that bitch up for sale in like 6 months. Easy money.

dont be so confident. most of the country's real estate markets have already cooled. texas is just behind and plus appreciation in texas has never been much due to so much land.

innovative entrepreneurial-minded designers are always looking to get venture capitalists to invest in their products to develop/produce them but of course, provided that they have a valid business strategy plan which declares their intentions and how they plan to achieve the goals they set. that's one of the things that i've been conjuring up and as soon as i get through graduation next month, and finish complete the prototypes, all the plans will go into action by the end of the year. i dunno about others, but i find those types of ventures to be very exciting and rewarding.

US might be a different market but the UK market its true. If you look at house prices in the last 100 years in the UK, on average the prices double every 7 years. So its doesnt matter if prices are going down or up, cos roughly 7 years down the line the price will double.

I bought some commercial property about 6 years ago and its gone up by over 400%. And that a real value too cos around Christmas I got two offers at my asking price (significant amount). Turned it down and decided to keep it cos its paying so well.

Cash Inflow - Cash Outflow / Initial Investment
