so here's the thing- i look on her profile and i see that she has taken plan B (an emergency contraceptive which prevents pregnancy within 72 hours after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure) three times.

This does not indicate to me that she wanted a child in the first place, if it had to happen 3 times. It indicates a lack of maturity and responsibility on her behalf - that she didn't have the decency enough to think of taking some contraceptives, like orthotricyclen, depo-provera, norplant, etc.

I do not believe that this had anything to do with her reconciling her thoughts at the last moment, and therefore foregoing her duties as a future parent. If that were the case, it brings up another issue altogether, which is more along the lines of pro-choice vs. pro-life. Frankly, I am for the former. If you are unable to care for your child or do not have the necessary capacity or resources (ie financially/emotionally), then you are better off not raising a child; otherwise, this would inevitably lead to suffering for both the child and mother. It is like having life deprived while you are already going through it.

Some may argue that it is better than to have the child and put him/her for adoption, but that's another matter altogether.

Point being, I don't think she had any common sense...

But I think the thing that attracts all these kids into just solid drinking is the fact that they really don't have lives. I'm not being general there either. When some kids parents are all anal and strict about working and studying during high school, the kids end up not having any hobbies or any interests. When they get into college, they have all this freedom that they're not used to and turn 180. They simply don't know how to fun in any other way. How *else* do you explain all those nerdy desi kids you know in HS and how different desis become when they're in college. I have a bunch of friends who went down that path exactly like it. Gandhi sort of talked about this mentality that kids have.
