What's so great about Led Zeppelin?
The Police is not a rock group. They are a reggae group.
Anyway enough nitpicking.
I think you missed Van Halen. The song 'Right Now' probably has the best intro ever!

i thought jhonny cash was all about country
Cash was the personification of country music to many people around the world, despite his distaste for the Nashville mainstream. Yet, like Ray Charles, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley, Cash is a musician who transcends genre. He recorded songs that could be considered rock and roll, blues, rockabilly, folk and gospel, and exerted an influence on each of those genres.

Some classic rock playlists also include some of the hard-rock/heavy metal bands of the 1980s such as AC/DC,Guns N' Roses and Van Halen as classic rock; again, particular songs or musical eras from these acts may be more conducive to the format than others, and nearly every station fine-tunes its playlist by adding or deleting songs and artists to differentiate itself from competing stations.

yes they are....they arent original if berlin is good then all 80's music is good then that means we'de have to think that cherry pie is musical genius

its Freddie Mercury, get it right :P . His original name was Farrokh Bulsara.
Nirvana came fourth as a natural follow up to the Soundgarden's revolution, rehashing hard rock's deepest roots (Black Sabbath's music and the darkest guitar-driven sound of the Seventies) in a less oleographic, more calligraphic style - placing more emphasis on melody and instrumental skills. Cobain revealed himself able to rank with classic rock's masters histrionics, for both his singing and emotional guitar playing.
If you listen to some of the classic rock stations, they have started to play nirvana like there is no tommorow.

I feel that you don't HAVE to be from the 60's to be considered 'classic rock'. As long as you have the compoments, you are in. White stripes are a good example.

nirvana is not classic rock, half those groups aren't classic rock, but most of them could be defined as that.
classic rock is a pretty broad encompassing label to be given to bands, you might as well give that label to anyone who came out before 2000.

the problem with the genre "classic rock" is that it's too broad. it encompasses everything except alternative, which is what came out as an alternative to classic rock.
