Didnt the Tsar mind that some random man off the street was cavorting with his wife and trying to heal his child?
The Tsar evidently didnt care about this as he made Rasputin his advisor on political matters.
Why did a gay prince take so much offence at what Rasputin was doing when the Tsar himself didnt seem to care?
id like opinions of those who actually know what im talking about

He also wrote something before he died..
If he was killed by peasents then the monarchy in Russia would live on for many years to come but if he was killed by nobles then it would collapse but i think he might have planned the assasination of the Tsar and his family..
not the time for C.O.D though BR is funny in his own right

No, he and his wife were both very superstitious as the russian population was as a whole at the time and were convinced that that old fart had some mysterious healing powers that could help their only son-a small hemophiliac boy who was in danger of bleeding to death from the smallest scratch. All in all, the Tsar just wasn't man enough for the job.

at last, someone who reads the last line
i remember doing it at school and thought to myself that i would be mighty pissed off if i was the Tsar because if i remember correctly they gave Rasputin a place to stay and he was a certain sect of a certain religion which believed that orgies were good and that women would flock to his bed :sarb:
the Tsar must have gotten pissed off after a while though, after realising that Rasputin wasnt actually healing the child
iv read quite a few books about it and im still confused as to why the gay prince cared so much :sarb:

actually there is NO proof that he did indulge in orgies. Did he entertain ladies? Sure. OK, prostitutes:D He was an illiterate peasant with a charming hypnotizing personality who was lucky enough to be around when the heir survived bleeding episodes-which were considered his miracles. Yes, he was allowed to stay very close to them, and yes he was trusted, and yes they looked away when he did engage in certain questionable activities, but I think their peace of mind over the fact that the heir son was alive and had escaped death due to Rasputin (or so they thought) mattered more than the speculations that came with his lifestyle. He got too close to the royal family at a time when affairs of the state ere ignored...the peasants especially who were dying of hunger. Again, the tsar just wasn't cut for the job. And the Tsar never really got pissed off. he adored his wife and his wife adored rasputin becuase she thought he and only he could save her child.

well im only going on what iv been taught and what iv read in books so i dont know if its all true, they must have embellished truths and maybe in places made him out to be worse than he actually was. It just strikes me as odd that the Tsar, the KING of the land didnt seek help from elsewhere and trusted the words of a dude who came in from the streets, I know they were highly superstitious but there must have been other people who could have helped.

he had a very weak character, he wasn't cut out to be in that position. He was also heavily influenced by his wife and their religion. He was very meek. It had everything to do with that. And you're right, everybody credits rasputin with so much evil but it's such an overrated blame. There is a new wonderful book that came out about a year ago or so full of details and the newest published documents from the time, court documents, period letters, etc, very thick book but awesome reading...are you in the UK or US. i could pm you the details later. It's a really great book.

You're right, there is no evidence whatsoever that they had an affair. The royal family was just very gullible due to superstitious reasons. Ok i will stop repeating myself here. :D
