The Ribena Taste Test... ~3 Pix~

During a sombre day at University, myself and a fellow student decide to head off to the Junior Common Room (kindly called the JCR) in order to grab a bit to eat or perhaps even drink some chilled beverages of the non-alcoholic kind. On arrival we view a rather pricey selection of cold drinks; however the large array of Ribena varieties caught our eye. From then on the Ribena taste test ensued...

We brought all four varieties available to us, them being:

1) Blackcurrant (Original)
2) Diet Blackcurrant
3) Strawberry
4) Orange

And then tasted them to find the best of the lot...

After tasting all varieties we found that we surprisingly found the Orange flavour to be the best. Strawberry was too sweet and got rather sickening to the end. The original Blackcurrant was nice but overdone and pretty plain. But it had a more fuller flavour than the Light version which was in fact too light. The orange was just right and refreshing, so it clearly won hands down. However, at 70p a pop, Ribena is pretty expensive at the JCR, so I doubt we shall be repeating this test (to eliminate random error) anytime soon :|

So the question would be... What variety of Ribena do you prefer and why?

original lucozade is lovely but the bubbles ALWAYS get up my nose..no matter how slowly i drink it

That has so much sugar in it it's disgraceful. One full 500ml bottle of Lucozade has about 500 calories, more than many sandwiches. I stopped drinking it :|

Have you tried the Orange variety? Try it if you haven't, you won't be dissapointed :)

once i was drinking 7up (years ago). anyway, i got well enthusiastic and tilted the can too far up - which resulted in the fizzy drink going up my nose. for about 6 seconds i was well fucked up with tears rolling down my cheeks. then i became normal again and continued drinking it safely.

Haha - the original mixed is the bog standard. And the diluted one tastes different from the one you buy in shops. I was shocked at the difference between the light one and the original one!

Fuck saving a few calories, I'd rather have the tase mate!
