I've wanted to share this with someone for a long time, the panic attacks are gettting more and more frequent.......

I drive through the blackwall tunnel from the south every day, but i panic at the thought that one of those yellow scaffolding rods which are hung on tunnel ceiling shearing off the single bolt that they are held on, falling and impaling my car.

Seriously, i can understand that they are there as a height restriction. But they sometimes swing wildly, it puts the fear of god in me.

Just wanted to know of any other blackwall tunnel users, and their fears......

P.s Please take this as a serious thread. :nervous:

they used to scare me too but you get over the fear, just dont look up and concentrate on your driving..you know what else used to worry me? the way there were bends IN the tunnel!

exactly, whats that all about? I also use the Dartford Tunnel, and thats straight as an arrow. Im gonna get a petition started to suggest that they paint the rods black....

yeah but then people wouldnt see them so they would bang right in..they need to just write the height restrictions on the way in because the rods swing like mad even when it isnt even windy..and how can a lot of wind even get into the tunnel?

i dont like turns in tunnels full stop i only like the tunnels where the lights go from orange to white and the radio fucks up

what i dont understand is that they dont have those, on the other side as your heading southbound.
