does anyone ever wish they could just go back to being like 10 years old for a week, not a care in the world, playing football all day in the sludgy fields until it was too dark to see...making massive lego cities with working water features (ie a garden hose), catching bugs in the garden, camping out in the back yard

i remember waking up like 8 in the morning, getting dressed and just going out in the street and playing with my friends (there are 5 boys and a righteously fit girl in my little suburban cul-de-sac here in ireland) and we'd be out ALL day; just go in for meals...man we'd play from like 8am to 10 at night, get knackered, go inside, go to bed and then get up in the morning and do it all over again.

not a care in the world...the only pressing needs were "are we playing fly goalie?"...

"Playing football after the grass has been freshly cut is the bomb ."

absolutely...i remember saturday at like 11am, the lawn was freshly mown, and we all have really big lawns so we'd have big 5 a side games, proper goals and all, and we'd all have our full football kits on, we really loved pretending we were playing proper preiership footy haha - it was rough as heck too!

when i play football with english guys at med school theyre' always like easy mate easy, im like what? fair challenge mate. my mate aidan (from northern ireland too) he's like things we do back home to get the ball, you get a yellow card for in matches here. i dont get it, the premiership is quite a physical league, why are english kids so wussy?

the hard challenges weren't cute i tell you that! there was this one kid in my street, he had agression issues. he usedt o go mental and start fights and just chase us around beating us up. and he doesnt recall any of it. nicest guy in the world now that we've all grown up!
