isnt that just men with big tits :sarb: ??? lol joking aside

errm i read something about this, trying to recollect i think it was something to do with the way ur genes are made and something going wrong during the conception process, so during the 9 months of pregnancy in some male cases certain genes and DNA doesnt go the way it shud have and males develop or have some of the normal homones or genes i think that wud be normally be present in females.

Dont quote me on that, but i think its something along those lines, ask satinder i think hes like the science expert

Dihydrotestosterone is produced normally from week 7-8 until birth and if the fetus can respond to androgens, you get male sexual development i.e. lots of things fold over to make a penis etc. But fetal ovaries DO NOT produce androgens so you end up with a clitoris instead of a penis and other differences like labia and, finally, a vagina.

Male pseudohermaphroditism (MPH) = incomplete masculinization of the external genitalia in a male (46XY) karyotype caused broadly by:

-TESTOSTERONE SYNTHESIS DEFICIENCIES (leads to failure to produce the androgens needed for masculinization)
eg is congenital adrenal hyperplasia - affects the synthesis of steriod hormones by the adrenal glands (some of which are crucial in sexual development
-ANDROGEN RECEPTOR DISORDER/ANDROGEN INSENSITIVITY SYNDROME (has a complete form and a partial form); in the complete form, the patient has normal female external genitalia
-DEFECTS IN ANDROGEN ACTION:
5a-Reductase 2 deficiency is a REALLY rare disorder affecting male sexual development. Without this enzyme, they can't convert testosterone to the more active dihydrotestosterone at EXTERNAL genital target cells. They secrete normal testosterone so have normal internal male genitalia, they just have poorly developed external genitalia

i THINK there's a similar thing going on with the 17b -hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase deficiency

haha no harm to ye mate, you were the opposite (the bit about the male having DNA expression the female doesn't or something like that...but good thinking nonetheless, you were going down the right lines so yep, close enough :-p)

what's this for btw? surely not your RD profile or anything like that? because you don't have to tell people stuff like that if you don't want to...

It usually occurs when faced with dangerous situations, men turn into a complete Vagina

Testosterone, the principal male sex steroid hormone, is synthesized in five steps from cholesterol (see diagram). In the last step, five isozymes catalyze the 17B-hydroxysteriods dehydrogenase reactions that interconvert 4-androstenedione and testosterone. Defects in the synthesis of testosterone can impair the development of the male phenotype during embryogenesis and cause the disorders of human sexuality termed male pseudohermaphroditism. Specifically, mutation in isozyme 3 of the 17B-hydroxysteriods dehydrogenase in the fetal testis impair the formation of testosterone and give rise to genetic males with female external genitalia and blinding-ending vaginas. Such individuals are typically raised as females but virilize at puberty, due to an increase in serum testosterone, and develop male hair growth patterns. On a side note I must say many so called chicks on this forum are also victims to this condition
