The Art of Manipulation

Manipulation is truly an art form. I witnessed a wonderful example of it last night on Chunky’s thread and from someone that I didn’t even think was capable of doing it…not because he’s necessarily too moral, but because it requires a certain amount of mental aptitude and up until this point I thought his head was full of butterflies.

So I’m posting this because I think there is something to learn here, both for people who want to manipulate and for those trying to avoid being manipulated.

The Set Up:
This guy wants this girl to love him. Assumes that she does and goes ahead making bold statements as such.


she still loves me and that is it.

i love this girl and thas it. she wants me to be by her side through thick and thin.

she's in love wit me. someone did do her wrong in her past and she was upset bout it. when i first met her, i liked her from the start. i got to know her better. now she and i know each other very well

i am special and so is she. thas why she is wit me


The Realization:
Not only does the girl not know the guy very well…(in fact they’ve only really spoken once), but she makes it apparent that she doesn’t love him



Manipulation Tactic #1: Planting the seed….
Our hero backtracks in order to salvage the situation yet still trying to plant the seed in her head that maybe someday….

Manipulation Tactic #4: Isolation
Possibly the most powerful of all manipulation techniques…make someone believe they have no one else in the world besides you and you own them for life. It’s us against the world, baby.

btw. she has told me what no one else knows.


Unfortunately our hero fails on tactic #2 and the girl becomes aware of the reality of the situation. A for effort though.


Now that we have seen an elementary example of manipulation, how is your game? What tactics do you use? Sadly, I don’t think men will ever reach the level of Master Manipulator (much like our young hero) just because women have been doing it for waayyy longer. This is of course because for so many years women had no power…what do you do when you can’t have power?? That’s right, you manipulate those who do have power.

How does one achieve the title of Master Manipulator, well imo manipulating men is small beans…you know when you’ve mastered the art when you can manipulate other female manipulators. Then you know you’re really at the top of your game. Anyone reached this level of enlightenment?

i dunno, i never really tried it out on the net but in real life i pretty much always get what i want even if it requires some simple manipulation, i dont use self-pity tactics like gt & mk and im alot more subtle so let's say an 8? cause im good at it but youd have to shave some points off for e showing a little restraint

not so hot i dont like heat transfer for that reason it all being tables i always fuck up somewhere or use the wrong formula or some shit or the other... dyanmics lol was a lot easier... im doing ok... its been my best semester so far.. (should be the worst) other than than life is treating me well

every man loves a challenge. Yes the innocence bit is hard to pinpoint, however in order to hide one extreme you have to act the other...i'd be suspicious of anyone who played innocent. I don't know how old you are, but if you're past 20 you're too old to be "innocent"

Like all other forms of art, manipulation cannot be learned. It has to come naturally and can only be refined. I can say I have never signficantly been manipulated. Manipulation has to arises from your ability to influence the other basically how much control you have him/her and how much he/she values ur opinion. Its pretty easy basically, (although I have never done it on purpose) the more the other person "knows you" the better you will be at it. If you give the victim what he/she wants it allows you to "go bigger." It is no secret, manipulation can be huge like actually forcing one countries policy to change or it can be simple as some extra ice-cream. The levels very deeply but the key is knowing how your opponent thinks. If you know if I do A victim will then do B you have successfully manipulated them. As for girls manipulating people I have to say thats true I have seen examples of low-intelligence girls manipulating a average guy to do something.
As far the example goes GT & MK King might be pushing it. Repetitiveness is effective as long as the victim does not know what is goin on. I read the 1st post so im just on-the-fly making a response...

then one day some dork in his rush to pronounce his ownage of a fellow poster typed pwned (because p is right next to o). Then everyone laughed at him because he just "owned" himself by spelling it wrong. it's all very ironic!! so then people started using it on purpose to make fun of him and eventually it becamed an accepted alternate spelling that is funnier because of it's implicit self ownage
