Ive hooked up the computer (tower) to my tv with a S-Video cable.....i can now see my desktop on my tv screen and everything from msn/internet explorer/MS programs work and show up fine.....but when i play a movie...the the screen just stays blank even though the movie can be see on the computers LCD montior
any ideas? :sarb:

I'm not into computers, but a DVI connection is better anyway...lots of newer laptops and PC's have DVI which supports progressive scan and HD signals...
maybe check the settings on the DVD program to be able to play from the output.

yeah...my tv doesnt have a DVI connection
but i will look at the dvd program like you suggested...i usually use realone as my media player

that's too bad man...DVI is defo awesome, HDMI and component too but computers don't use 'em
if you ever watch MNF or Discovery in HD, you'd swear you'd never go back

Set your TV as your primary display. You can only have the video on either screen at one time. Well, you can have it on both, but I don't want to go into that since I don't know what kind of video card and drivers you have.

Have you tried setting up the overlay settings on you video card?
:idea:
i right click on destop...go to properties...settings...advanced....but there is nothing in there which lets me change anthing around such as setting my prime monitor and such :mad:

That's what mine looks like .. I have nvidia card. Click on the TV, and check that option.

^thanks man....but my layout doesnt have those options for some reason...even though i have a NVIDIA card too :mad:

edit....problem solved.....i just changed out the S Video cable lol
