u r talking about the studio version...

Well obviously I'm talking about the studio version... Who would assume I was talking about this 'live' version, you certainly didn’t allude to it?

And ‘Beat it’ as far as the credit goes, belongs entirely to Eddie Van Halen and if slash did the solo at some later live performance that's inconsequential.

For a self-proclaimed 'metal messiah', you're not quite up on your tip.

..i said i liked the first two songs because of the guitar work by slash... explain it to me how did i even point at the original song? wasn't it obvious tht i never talked abt the studio version the moment i named slash as far as beat it goes!??

neways..eddie van halen has played the guitar solo in the song and i never denied that...this crossover with Eddie van halen made MJ the first black artist to have a regular play on MTV.. and just to let u know, this song created a rift between the lead singer David Lee Roth and Eddie and eddie was vastly criticised for it...

and for a self-proclaimed Doctor, u shud've known tht there's no vaccine against stupidity..google up for some info on 70's and 80's music before u argue...

it has nothing to do with my screen name ..coz eddie van halen didn't hail from a metal band...the band Van halen itself debuted in 1978 and was the most popular American Rock & Roll band of the late '70s and early '80s, and in the process, they set the template for hard rock and heavy metal for the '80s....as for eddie....he was famous coz of his fast two-handed tapping, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and effects that mimicked the sounds of machines and animals..
tht isn't metal my friend...even dave gilmour did that!

LOL

So Van Halen isn't metal? Seriously dude, you should really quit now... 'cause I think you just set the new status quo for extreme foolishness.

Van Halen isnt metal, its rock. The best you can classify it as "hair metal" (80s Rock in the style of whitesnake, motely crue, Bon jovi, etc).

Real Metal is stuff like 80s Metallica, Pantera etc

There is a huge difference in sounds there

Van Halen was never a hair band... They never had the big hair, not even during the 80s... That's a misnomer perpetuated by people who don't know shit about the 80s a.k.a posers. They were the musical model for hair metal, but not included in the genre.

And as for them being a metal band, that much is obvious if you've ever heard 'eruption'... You won’t find anyone who knows anything about rock down play Van Halen, or more importantly the virtuosity of Eddie Van Halen.

surprise cockfag

This changed in 1978, with the release of the hard rock band Van Halen’s ground-breaking debut. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s innovative tapping technique, and vocalist David Lee Roth’s mock-carnal presence brought hair metal into mainstream music

Following Def Leppard’s wildly popular Pyromania, and Van Halen’s seminal 1984, hair metal became ubiquitous on radio and television

can you read douchebag

and here are some more pictures with BIG FUCKING PERMED HAIR

For a guy who claims so much music knowledge, why does it seem that you think Van Halen started with Sammy Hagar?

You, sir, are clearly a turd sandwich. You're not even worth debating (on account of you being a turd).

Oh and look what happens when I type Van Halen into the search box...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Halen

With this first release, the band established itself as a leader in the emerging and commercially successful U.S. heavy metal music genre of the 1980s.

But whatever, I'm too cool for this shit, and that's not even a cop-out. I genuinely think I'm too cool to keep posting in this thread on a sub-forum of a website for morons, with the express purpose of proving a well-established fact.

I'm not even all that cool, either. I'm just too cool to continue with this bullshit. I really am.

The first non-wikipedia site for "hair metal" on Google...why don't you go there and do a search for "Van Halen"?

Does a turd sandwich even have the ability to comprehend Google search results? I'm not sure...you will be an interesting test case.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU, MY GOOD (turd) FRIEND
