i just saw these over the week...

corpse bride -

what a lovely little film. it was romantic in tone and the animation was brilliant although it cannot compare to tim burton's previous work 'a nightmare befoire christmas' (1997). the plot was rather limited revolving around the zombie bride and trying to trap a male human for her groom. i just wish there could have been more. grade B+

history of violence -

WOW! director david cronenberg does it again! the guy that brought us macabe thrillers such as dead ringers (1989), existenz (2000), and crash (1998) has brought us deep into the demented human psyche with history of violence.

vigo mortensen's performance was amazing as a family man trying to hide his past although his past keeps catching up with him. its kinda slow at times but there are bursts of violence and gore in between. its a total must see! grade A-.

flight plan -

i had high hopes for this jodie foster starrer but this is like yet another version of panic room. a mother loses her daughter on a plane only to find out that its an elaborate kidnap plan. sure she's effective and its well acted but still... im so over these kinds of films. jodie foster is capable of doing better work than this stuff. grade C+

I haven't seen it yet, I might tuesday.

Is it really that good? What exactly is it about? The person I asked said it was something about pharmaceuticals but then I read a teaser and it seems like something totally different...

:idea:its about a british pharmaceutical company that does 'charity work' for AIDS in africa but instead of innoculating them with an anti-virus... they give them pesticides to kill off the population.

the plot is quite plausible. in reality, for years the US & the UK have been giving 3rd world countries bad milk & expired baby formulas that they wouldnt even feed their dogs.

Kay sounds interesting, I think I'll watch it then.

Have you seen "Me you and everyone we know", if you haven't watch it, that movie is fucking hilarious and the soundtrack is so sick.

It's not British, at least I don’t think it is; it's just an indie comedy. It was in limited release though, but it's worth looking for it, it was laugh out loud funny, cause it really pushes the limits of what's acceptable.
