i was wondering how u guys feel about those racially movitaed attacks that happened in surrey lately where two elderly sikh were killled with baseball bats by some younng racist white...how u feel about wat litttle is the police doing ????? the city council callling it a minor accicent........gimme a break minor incident where two elderly ppl r beaten to death with baseball bats....how comes its not the headline in the mainstream media??????? and the suspects r jus gettting charged with assault .....this is not an assault its a muder.....n one of them is out on bail already to attack on someone else.......this ia a big slap on minority ppl..if it was some white guy gettting beaten up by punjabi guys or black then were would be a big headline n police be harrassing every black or brown youth.....do u call this justice?????

Elderly Sikhs attacked in Park

A group of Sikh-Canadian senior citizens were sprayed with fire extinguisher foam from a slow-moving minivan as they sat at a picnic table yesterday morning in Surrey's Bear Creek Park.

It was in that same park that two elderly Sikh men were attacked with baseball bats in the summer and later died. This time, no one was seriously injured, said Surrey RCMP Constable Ali Mirza.

But to a community on edge after the slayings, the spraying of a group who regularly use the park for recreation is upsetting, he said.

"People were very fearful that this had happened," Constable Mirza said.
Just before 10 a.m., a silver minivan rolled onto the grass near a parking lot at the north end of the park.

It slowly passed the covered picnic table area, and several young Caucasian men stuck the nozzle of the fire extinguisher out the window, soaking a gathering of about 10 people.

It was likely a targeted, purposeful attack, Constable Mirza said, but he stopped short of saying it was racially motivated.

"It's an investigation that we're going to give high importance to, especially with the court case with elder gentlemen and their deaths."

Mewa Bains, 82, and Shingara Thandi, 76, were beaten on July 18 and July 19, in separate incidents in a public washroom in the park. Mr. Thandi died on Aug. 6, and Mr. Bains on Sept. 3.

Two teenagers, aged 13 and 15, were originally charged with assault and robbery in the attacks, but on Wednesday those charges were upgraded to aggravated assault and murder.

Since then, the RCMP has increased foot and bike patrols in Bear Creek Park, and have met with senior citizens in the community to give them safety tips, Constable Mirza said.

British muslims are never taught to go out and bash any white person, nobody ever makes us hate them. Only reason perhaps theres the hate is due to the integration problem, ie some white folk dont understand us, thats partly our fault for not integrating into society and forming our own areas, partly its the governments fault for not doing enough to get people who represent our ppl, the Muslim Council of britain for example, who the fuck are they, they never talk to us. Things will improve in time if we can work together with th government, have real representatives in the government and only then we can move up as a people living in great britain.
