So any boxing fans out there ?, i love the sport myself as well as a die hard cricket maniac, also practice amateur kick boxing myself and cant wait to see his second fight, So what u think the verdict is gonna be lol, pretty predictable id say, anyone else out there with any views on this up and coming sensational boxer?? and what do u think his influence will be as an asian in a predominantly non asian sport??

Khans worth too much money to lose. Its not like his fights are rigged but his too good for the people his fighting at the moment and his promoter knows it. Few more fights and they'll probably give him a go at the big boys...

Hes definately very talented, no doubt about that, but hes got a long way to go yet. He will fight nobodys for another 10-20 more fights yet, in which time he CANNOT lose. On last nights performance I think he was class, ok he didnt knock the other guy out but he controlled the whole fight from start to finish without giving the other guy any chance at all. Hopefully he keeps getting better as he goes along, hes making a name for himself, i just hope he doesnt turn into a prince naseem.

hey u cant diss prince naseem, if theres anything u know about boxing u cannot deny the talent that man possessed, jus because he was a bit of dick and flamboyant and cocky and gave it all the attitude, dont mean u can class him as a fake what was he fake in?, just go and look at some of his stats, he was the only man in his division that had the punching capability and power two divisions above him only reason he couldnt contend in those divisions was coz of his weight, yes he was a bit a prickbecause of the way he carried himself, but thats just how some people are especially if they are very confident in themselves, but as far as boxing class goes he was very very talented, whereas Aamir khan has the same ability if not better etc but a bit more of a sensible, controlled and more mature approach to the game

he is a fake prince but yeh he wuz a pretty good boxer till her ran into BARRERA who kicked Naseems butt pretty well!!! :p :p :p
His arrogance/cockiness got the best of him...thank god!! He wuz quite annoyin wit his delayed entrances and other dramatics!

I think Naseem was one of the biggest wasted talents out there, no one can doubt he was a very very good fighter, but with all that fame came all that money, and I think he just lost the motivation as time went on. He was always very arrogant and that just got worse and worse, with some of the most stupid ring entrances I have ever seen, some of them were just embarressing to watch. Had he really wanted to make a name for himself, I think he could have come back and easily beaten barrera, ok not 'easily' but I think he could have beaten him... if he was still focused 100% with his boxing, which I dont think he was at that point.
Being beaten doesnt really mean anything, he would have earned alot of respect after going away from the barrera fight, and training harder, then coming back for a rematch and winning. Instead after his defeat he never looked like the same fighter again. Either way, he did made a hell of alot of money.

ur right, he did give up, but what u have to remember is that fight with berrera was not due for another 5 fights at least wich in boxing terms was almost over a year, and everyone knew that he just wasnt ready for that fight, but yes he lost, he got beat good in that fight and really an truly he should have been more focussed as he didnt go into that fight with the full training before hand as that fight actually came around due the mix up with the Morales fight,
i still think he cud have come back and beat berrera and agree with u on that one,,
and yes he did make a lot of money almost 12 million pounds, but i guess when he lost he jus gave up and thought ive got the money now so i can jus chill, not a tru sportsman i wud say as his wasnt completely into the game and he also let down a lot of fans too

hmmmm a lot of narrow-minded assumptions made in this thread...
1. Naseem reached his peak/prime BEFORE tha barrera fight... so he had established his talent and achievement already - anything after was a bonus.. afterall, no matter how confident u r - and if uve boxed/are a boxer u'll knw ther'l always be some1 better than u, 1 day...
2. Just because of Naseem's showboating performances, over confident/cocky attitude etc doesn't mean hes a bad person... WAKE UP - its his job, when hes at work this is something extra hes doing to get more money.. 4m many sources ive found out Naseem is a real mature guy.. he even admits in his documentary that it was all 4 the cameras..
...harsh facts but true lol ..pple av gota stop bein so naive and look at things 4m different perspectives.. :)
as far as Amir Khan... he is like woah.. its hard to fault the guy - its so natural to him.. ive seen him about in manchester - all im gonna say personality;s u c on tv are somewhat different to reality...

much is true about naseem hamed, yet i will always feel he would not of been able to compete with morales or barrera in their primes which is not much to be shamed off.
but with regards to your last sentence many are like that, chris eubank comes across as a wanker-but having met the guy-he is very much down to earth guy even though his accent is annoying. same with oscar de la hoya, he seems like a nice guy on TV but from those who have met him-what a lame ass fucking cunt was the majority opinion.
